This is the textbook called for my Art Appreciation grade. I take taken (and dropped) the course before and the previous textbook was the standard dull affair. I have to say that I'thousand rather impressed by this book, enough so that I may not desire to part with information technology at the finish of the semester (even though I could use the money). As a pupil, perhaps I might find such things of use, but unnecessary when the affiliate itself is interesting enough that I don't immediately seek out a shortcut. Each chapter is filled with beautiful photographs of artwork, and the ocassional creative person spotlight. ...more than

Art grade required reading and I have to say information technology was very well written, engaging, and made this business major enjoy learning and reading about art.

I accept worked with a lot of art history books, but I had to try to teach from this one. It has no order to information technology. Information technology simply flops whatever it wants in with whatever else. As an adjunct instructor I did non appreciate how it was structured at all. 2.five. I'k being generous with that.
And let'south not forget all disciplines are required to accept information technology. Some ppl aren't art ppl. And so why not commencement with cave drawings and build ... so then in an interesting manner...
anyhow. Non my favorite for instruction or reading.

I have had zero time for fun reads, information technology's trip planning and schoolhouse. This is one of the ones the gets looped into school. I gave information technology two stars because I feel like I can't considerately say like "oh hey this is horrid and I hate information technology", even though, that would be a valid statement. Information technology's very dry, but I'1000 not an fine art major, I have no pursuit in going further on art study than what I have to. I'one thousand taking an fine art history class with George Wythe College via distance studies and I found this book to supplement my studies. I really like the data on technical art philosphy. Its a text volume and so it isnt equally entertaining as some books might exist. Yet i did savour it and how they had sidebars near artists and movements that were primal. Pictures of the art was neat.

Read this textbook for a higher Fine art History class. Some of the capacity elevate on with so much info doping. However this was still a skillful art book with articulate images.

I had to used this book for my Art 100 class at #EssexCountyCollege. The pictures weren't large enough. For a book that is meant to help y'all appreciate art, the illustrations were gloomy, unclear and lacked whatever vibrance whatever. I, too, had to read this for school. I did non have to read cover to cover but most 90-95% is a good approximate.
